Zamioculcas zamiifolia – ZZ Plant “Glenida”

Adopted

This ZZ plant was a gift from our neighbors, Glenia and Glenda—a thoughtful gesture that already carries a bit of warmth and friendship. It’s now part of our Toronto Collection, and we’ll take great care of it as it matures, watching each new shoot rise and unfurl. There’s something grounding about receiving a plant from someone nearby; it connects the spaces we share through care and time. Every leaf that grows will be a quiet reminder of good neighbors and simple kindness.

Zamioculcas zamiifolia, commonly known as the ZZ plant, is part of the Araceae family and native to eastern Africa. It’s one of the most resilient houseplants—thriving on low light, irregular watering, and near total neglect. Its glossy, waxy leaves grow along thick stems that store water, allowing it to survive long dry spells with ease. Often seen as a symbol of prosperity and steady growth, the ZZ plant is both sculptural and forgiving, bringing calm, green balance to any room it occupies.
