Zamioculcas zamiifolia ‘Raven’ – ZZ Plant “Noche”

Adopted

“Noche” is a propagation of my original Raven ZZ Plant, started here in Florida as we prepare for a new chapter in Toronto, Canada (hoping for Toronto). Like many propagations, its first leaf began to dwindle, surrendering nutrients to feed the unseen growth below the soil. It’s a patient process, but one that reminds me how endings often nurture beginnings, and how resilience shows up quietly in the rhythm of plants.

The name “Noche” comes from the Spanish word for night, chosen to honor its strikingly dark foliage. To me, it also marks an homage to Florida, the place where this cutting began its journey. From the warm nights here to the cooler seasons ahead in Canada, Noche carries both memory and hope—black leaves reflecting strength, mystery, and the beauty of transition.

Zamioculcas zamiifolia ‘Raven’ is cherished for its glossy, almost-black leaves that emerge bright green before deepening into midnight tones. This small propagation may be modest now, but I look forward to the moment when it sends out fresh shoots, proof of persistence and continuity as we step into the future together.

🪴 Note About This Plant
