Sansevieria trifasciata – Zeylanica Black Coral “필승 必勝 – Pil Seung” (Medium)

Adopted

This Sansevieria zeylanica comes from the lineage of OG Abyssa—a mature Black Coral that’s part of my original collection. It’s a natural reversion, meaning it grew from a Black Coral cutting but returned to the lighter, wave-like patterns of Zeylanica. These reversions happen often in Sansevieria when propagated from leaves, where the deep pigments of the parent fade into softer tones in the offspring.

This plant carries a few brown marks—mostly from past sun exposure and minor stress. Those spots are signs of sunburn, where the leaf tissue overheated or dried from direct light or sudden temperature shifts. They don’t spread and aren’t harmful once healed; the plant simply seals those areas and continues to grow. Over time, new leaves will emerge clean and unmarked, gradually shifting focus away from the scars that remain.

Sansevieria trifasciata ‘Zeylanica’ belongs to the Sansevieria family, known for its resilience and sculptural leaves marked by soft green waves. Native to West Africa, this species thrives in neglect and indirect light, storing energy in thick, water-rich leaves. To help it recover, keep it in bright but shaded light, water sparingly, and allow the soil to dry fully before the next watering. With time, it strengthens from the base upward—proof that even small setbacks can lead to steadier growth.
