Sansevieria – Laurentii, Jaboa & Sayuri Trio “Tres Leche” (Large)
Adopted
Living in South Florida has introduced me to many things—one being the sweet, layered dessert Tres Leches. Inspired by the idea of three coming together, I planted this trio of Sansevieria varieties in a single pot. Each has its own story: Laurentii from a swap meet in Lantana, Florida, Bantel’s Sensation from a nursery visit in Washington, D.C., and Sayuri from Delray Beach, Florida. Together, they create a living homage to the richness of diversity within this resilient genus, blending three personalities into one harmonious piece.
The pot itself carries history—it was once broken, then repaired in the spirit of Kintsugi (金継ぎ), the Japanese art of mending with meaning. In a playful twist, I patched the gaps with leftover dog chew bones, giving it a quirky but heartfelt finish. To make it even more personal, I decorated the soil with seashells collected at Phipps Ocean Park in Palm Beach.
