Sansevieria cylindrica – Spear Plant “OG BELIEVE” (XL)
Adopted
“OG BELIEVE” has been with me for over 7 plus years (along with its twin OG BE MORE), a true constant since my time in Baltimore. I first brought home this Sansevieria cylindrica when it was just a small, modest plant. Over time, I’ve watched it transform into something almost prehistoric—upright leaves now stretching more than two feet tall (61 cm) in the Florida sun. Its growth feels ancient, like a living fossil expanding with patience and quiet strength. I often wonder how enormous it would become if ever planted directly in the ground.
The name BELIEVE is deeply personal. It comes from Baltimore’s iconic campaign slogan that inspired me when I first moved there. This plant stands as my homage to that city, a reminder of resilience, hope, and strength carried forward. Sansevieria cylindrica remains one of my favorites—sculptural, resilient, and adaptive. From humble beginnings to a towering presence, “OG BELIEVE” embodies transformation and the rewards of faith over time.
