Sansevieria cylindrica – African Spear “Tapo” (Large)

Adopted

“Tapo” is a distinctive offspring of my original Sansevieria cylindrica, one that grew in its own creative rhythm. While most cylindrical Sansevierias rise in straight, disciplined lines, this one decided to improvise—arching, twisting, and curving into sculptural forms that feel alive. One stem bends like an open palm, another arcs like a wave, each movement tracing its own quiet dance toward the light.

I can’t quite explain how it grew this way—every attempt to replicate it has failed. That’s what makes “Tapo” special: its design wasn’t planned, only discovered. It blends structure and spontaneity, embodying both the disciplined geometry of its species and the expressive freedom of nature’s hand.

Sansevieria cylindrica, also known as the African Spear Plant, is native to Angola and loved for its resilience and architectural beauty. It thrives in bright, indirect light and endures drought with ease. “Tapo” carries this same strength but reveals a more poetic side—an elegant reminder that not all growth follows a straight line.
