Platycerium alcicorne – Staghorn Fern (Medium)

I first saw a Staghorn Fern (Platycerium alcicorne) on Pinterest—one of those “cool plants you just had to have.” I tried growing a few in Baltimore, but they stayed small and delicate. When I moved to Florida, everything changed—these ferns grow here naturally, sometimes in trees, sometimes in shady corners, always looking a little otherworldly. The way its fronds layer over each other feels alien—shield fronds overlapping like armor, with antler-like fronds spilling out like sculpture. Every new layer adds to the drama.
