Monstera deliciosa Thai Constellation – “StellarNova” (Medium)

Adopted

“StellarNova” is a Monstera deliciosa ‘Thai Constellation’ I grabbed at Publix in Vero back in October 2029 for $29.99. I had seen it a few times before and realized no one else noticed it—how wild that a once-rare cultivar now shows up in a supermarket. I placed it in a kintsugi bowl I’d repaired, and I plan to grow it outdoors part-time, giving it space and care to thrive. It’s a beautiful thing, and I’m genuinely excited to watch it unfold.

The Thai Constellation variant of Monstera is prized for its creamy, speckled variegation across green foliage, often described as a “starry sky” pattern. Unlike the stark whites of the Albo, its variegation leans toward creamy, yellow-tinged tones and is considered more stable—not prone to reverting fully to green. It thrives in bright, indirect light and a well-draining aroid mix, but be careful: the variegated portions are more susceptible to sunburn and moisture imbalance. As it matures, its fenestrations (leaf splits) will deepen and expand, giving “StellarNova” room to express its full celestial pattern over time.
