Euphorbia stapelioides variegated – Medusa Plant “OG Drako” (Large)

Adopted

“OG Drako” is pure presence—bold, sculptural, and unapologetically alive. Its twisting stems move with a rhythm that feels almost elemental, as if shaped by wind and time. This is one of two siblings I adopted from the Baltimore Conservatory—Drako and his sister, “OG Draka”—once a single plant that has since grown into distinct, expressive forms. Their story began that afternoon among rows of sunlit pots, when I spotted their serpentine structure and knew instantly they were coming home with me. “Drako” carries the fire and motion of that moment, a reminder that strength can take many graceful shapes.

Euphorbia stapelioides, commonly known as the Medusa Plant, carries a sculptural beauty that explains its mythic name. The plant’s snake-like stems spread outward in coils, creating movement and character unlike almost anything else. What makes “OG Drako” even more special is how easy it is to grow and propagate—dry soil, minimal care, and it thrives. This one is the source of every Medusa cutting in my collection, the original dragon that started it all.
