Cordyline fruticosa – Hawaiian Ti “Flamingo” (Medium)
Adopted
I rescued this Hawaiian Ti during road work in Boynton Beach. Before the lot cleared, I lifted a smaller cane. It had been cut hard and looked rough, but it held on. Over time, it pushed out new pink-edged leaves that gave it a name—“Flamingo.” It’s resilient, patient, and full of quiet color, a reminder that beauty often returns when given time.
Cordyline fruticosa is a tropical evergreen from the Cordyline family, prized for its colorful foliage and upright, cane-like growth. Native to Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands, it symbolizes good fortune and protection. In South Florida’s warmth, it thrives outdoors in filtered sun, growing fuller with each season and responding well to careful pruning after stress.
