Calathea lancifolia – Rattlesnake Plant “Delgado” (Medium)
Adopted
“Delgado” is a tall and graceful Calathea lancifolia, known as the Rattlesnake Plant. I was first drawn to its majestic leaf pattern—waves of deep green with dark markings that resemble rattlesnake scales—and the rich purple tones underneath. This one comes from my original OG plant, and what I love most is how tall it’s grown, far beyond what I usually see from this species.
Native to the tropical forests of Brazil, the Rattlesnake Plant thrives in warmth, humidity, and soft, filtered light. Its leaves move gently throughout the day, folding at night in a rhythmic display known as nyctinasty. Elegant, patterned, and full of character, “Delgado” brings both vibrance and calm to any indoor space.
