Alocasia macrorrhizos ‘Lutea’ – Golden Stem Elephant Ear “MonTon” (Large)

Adopted

This Alocasia macrorrhizos ‘Lutea’, also called the Golden Stem Elephant Ear, came from a single cutting I picked up near a vegan spot in Pompano. I call it MonTon, because it represent a couple, who brought us to this spot. I didn’t expect much at first—but it quickly became a tropical standout. Its golden-yellow stems support broad, shield-like leaves that sway with presence and light. Grown outdoors in South Florida without fertilizer, it thrives on warmth, steady water, and space to stretch. Each new leaf unfurls like a quiet celebration—bold, sculptural, and full of life.
