Kintsugi (金継ぎ)
Kintsugi (金継ぎ), the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, celebrates the beauty of imperfections and the passage of time. Rather than hiding cracks, it highlights them—transforming breaks into part of the object’s story. My own approach follows this philosophy and intention, though not the traditional technique. Instead of lacquer and gold, I find joy in the simple act of fixing—patching pots in ways that create new character and beauty. Each repair is less about perfection and more about honoring resilience and the unexpected forms that emerge.
In this collection, plants grow in vessels that have been cracked, mended, or patched, each carrying visible marks of repair. The result is a living expression of endurance, where both plant and container reflect persistence and renewal. Whether it’s a Sansevieria, succulent, or another hardy favorite, pairing them with repaired pots creates something uniquely moving. These pieces are more than décor—they are stories of growth, imperfection, and the quiet strength of starting again.
