Thank You, Wiley & Maudy

It was such a pleasure meeting Wiley and his wife, Maudy, when they picked up our compost bin—the one that’s been part of our Boynton Beach garden for many years. This bin has always been a favorite of mine for its durability, simplicity, and the way it quietly kept our garden nourished through the years. Seeing it move on to a new home with good people feels like passing along something that still has plenty of life and purpose to give.

Composting with Care

Composting in a bin like this is both simple and rewarding. For years, we filled it with vegetable scraps, flowers, and garden trimmings—avoiding meat and dairy—and over time it transformed into rich, dark soil full of life. It’s a process that turns everyday waste into nourishment for the garden, reduces what goes to landfills, and strengthens the cycle of growth. For anyone who wants a straightforward way to care for the earth, this type of bin proves that durability and function can go hand in hand.

Learning About the Bahá’í Faith

During our conversation, Wiley and Maudy introduced me to the Bahá’í Faith. I left genuinely curious to learn more. What struck me most was how the principles they shared echoed ideas of unity, renewal, and interconnectedness—concepts that feel surprisingly aligned with the spirit of composting itself. Both remind us that with care, patience, and intention, transformation and growth are always possible.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Wiley & Maudy

Wiley and Maudy, thank you again—not just for giving this compost bin a new home, but for the warmth you shared in our brief meeting. It means a lot to me knowing that something that nurtured my garden will continue its story in your hands. I’m excited to see the kind of soil you create and the growth that comes from it. Most of all, I’m grateful for the kindness of our exchange, the thoughtfulness you brought into the moment, and the inspiration of learning something new from you. Meeting people like you reminds me why I love passing things forward.
