Thank You, Sheng Yuan: Feng Shui Plants in Action
Working with Sheng Yuan was a wonderful experience that went beyond simply delivering plants. Instead, it became a hands-on project filled with learning, collaboration, and a little bit of fun.
The Project: Gardening, Learning, and Hanging
I selected plants guided by feng shui principles, focusing on balance and prosperity. We placed two Sansevieria in 14-inch terracotta pots, side by side like guardians, and added a vibrant Song of India in a 17-inch terracotta pot. Terracotta pots are especially handy in Florida to help get the access water out, since it rains so much at times. All in all, every pieces creates structure and harmony in the garden.
Rather than just dropping off the plants, Sheng Yuan wanted to learn the process. We started with breakfast, visited Home Depot for soil and perlite, and discussed the benefits of terracotta pots. That afternoon, we mixed soils, arranged the plants, and brought her garden to life.
