Bartering Plants, Sharing Passion with Nicolette
The moment I parked and saw Nicolette’s front porch, I was in awe. It was overflowing with life, color, and personality—a true reflection of someone who loves plants. Right away, I felt that instant connection only plant people understand. When you share the same passion, words almost become unnecessary.

For our barter, Nicolette had some beautiful pots, and in exchange, she adopted three plants: the Bantel’s Sensation, an Aglaonema commutatum ‘Maria’ (Chinese Evergreen Maria), and a medium-sized Whale Fin Sansevieria. What struck me most was her reaction to the Bantel’s Sensation. She had never seen one before, and as I was leaving, I caught her still gazing at it with wonder. That image will stay with me.
To Be or Not To Be

When it came time for photos, Nicolette didn’t want to be in them, which I respected. But I really wanted a face in the moment. After some conversation and convincing, her son Nathaniel agreed to join in—and he absolutely stole the show. His poses were so expressive and full of character that we were all laughing and having the best time. It wasn’t just a photo; it was a memory.
This is the South Florida vibe I love: bartering plants, laughing, taking photos on a sweaty hot day. When did I become a Florida man? LOL
